Set within 200 acres of stunning woodland in the heart of Eryri / Snowdonia, Aberdunant Hall is a unique holiday park where presentation, upkeep and attention to detail are essential to the guest experience.

We are looking for an experienced, practical and proactive Deputy Grounds Manager to support the day-to-day upkeep, improvement and presentation of the park. This role would suit someone who is hands-on, mechanically minded, confident tackling a range of maintenance tasks, and able to solve problems as they arise.

This is more than a grounds role. We are looking for someone with solid practical experience who can turn their hand to a variety of jobs, including light building work, general repairs and outdoor maintenance, while helping us maintain the high standards expected across the park.

Working closely with the Grounds Manager and wider team, you will play an important role in keeping the grounds, accommodation areas and facilities safe, well maintained and looking their best at all times.

The Role

As Deputy Grounds Manager, you will support the daily running of grounds and maintenance operations across the estate. Duties will include:

  • Assisting the Grounds Manager with the organisation and completion of day-to-day grounds and maintenance tasks
  • Grass cutting, strimming, mowing, edging and the general upkeep of lawns, pitches, woodland paths and landscaped areas
  • Maintaining high standards across all outdoor areas to ensure the park is always clean, tidy, safe and presentable
  • Supporting with the safe movement, siting and positioning of caravans on the park
  • Jet washing caravans, decking, paths and other exterior surfaces
  • Carrying out painting, staining and basic exterior maintenance work
  • Assisting with the upkeep of holiday accommodation and park facilities
  • Undertaking general practical repairs and light building or maintenance work where needed
  • Supporting wider operational duties such as gas deliveries, hot tub checks and cleans, and general hands-on tasks across the park
  • Using a range of hand tools, power tools and grounds maintenance machinery safely and effectively
  • Helping to identify issues early and deal with problems in a practical and efficient way
  • Stepping up to support and oversee work standards in the Grounds Manager's absence

What We're Looking For

We are keen to hear from candidates who have:

  • Proven experience in grounds maintenance, park maintenance, site maintenance, landscaping or a similar practical outdoor role
  • Good all-round practical skills, with experience in light building work, basic repairs and general maintenance
  • A problem-solving attitude and the ability to use initiative to deal with day-to-day issues effectively
  • A practical, hands-on approach and the confidence to turn your hand to a wide variety of tasks
  • Experience using machinery and tools such as mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, jet washers and other maintenance equipment
  • A strong work ethic, good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
  • Reliability, flexibility and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • A full UK driving licence, ideally
  • Experience moving or siting caravans, which would be an advantage but is not essential
  • The confidence to take responsibility, support the Grounds Manager and lead by example when needed
